After losing the first leg of this Champions League quarter-final 2-1, Bayern's hopes of a comeback were well and truly on when Kane scored shortly after half-time at the San Siro. But set-piece goals from Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard turned the tie back in the home team's favour, despite Eric Dier's equaliser. Following the dramatic 2-2 draw and the 4-3 aggregate loss, Kane reflected on his side's exit from the competition on Wednesday.

He said after the game: "We gave everything to win. We had enough chances over the two legs. Conceding two goals from set pieces today was criminal. It completely shifted the momentum. We came very close. Football is about moments, they took theirs more than us."

Bayern put up a spirited display against Inter but it wasn't enough as Kane's wait for a first trophy went on. Now all his hopes lie in the German giants winning the Bundesliga, where they have a six-point lead over Bayer Leverkusen with five games remaining.
