Barcelona tried and failed to sign Nico Williams last summer after the young attacker displayed stellar form for Spain at the 2024 European Championships. Despite the Catalan giants' efforts, Williams decided to stay at Athletic Club, as he wanted to win trophies with them.

Per , Bayern Munich have now joined the race to secure the signature of the 22-year-old winger in the upcoming transfer window as they look to bolster their attack. Williams has a €58million (£48m/$62m) release clause in his existing deal which runs until 2027. After extending the contracts of stars like Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich, the Bundesliga giants will wait for further sales before they invest any money in fresh transfers.
