The England international has returned to where it all began for her, with an initial loan transfer from Manchester City to Arsenal being completed in late January. Kelly, as a London native, started her career with the Gunners.

She is now back in familiar surroundings, after seeing her contract with City run down, and is lining up alongside a number of familiar faces. They include fellow Euro 2022 winners Williamson, Beth Mead and Alessia Russo.

Kelly’s second debut for Arsenal came 2,815 days after her last appearance for the club, with a first goal back being recorded in a WSL clash with West Ham. The Gunners prevailed there in a seven-goal derby thriller, with Kelly netting their first of the game after falling 2-0 down.
