Chelsea fans could not believe their eyes as Noni Madueke blocked team-mate Cole Palmer's goal-bound tap-in in a comical mishap.

Palmer had the golden opportunity to double Chelsea's lead in the 54th minute when he had an empty net in front of him. The English attacker tapped the ball in and was about to celebrate, but team-mate Madueke was unable to get out of the way on the line and blocked the shot, resulting in a goal-kick for the Foxes. Madueke did try to jump in the air to avoid connecting with the ball, but it hit his foot and went out of play.

As the English winger denied his team-mate from doubling their lead, fans slammed the 22-year-old on social media and questioned manager Enzo Maresca's decision to field him in the starting line-up.

Enzo Fernandez turned out to be a hero for the Blues in the end as after providing the assist for Nicolas Jackson's opening goal, the Argentine scored in the 75th minute to make sure that his team walked away from the King Power Stadium with all three points.
