Manchester City midfielder James Milner has admitted that his side do not have the experience of current league leaders Manchester United, but that his team must continue to progress to consistently challenge for top spot.
The Etihad Stadium outfit have suffered a dip in form of late whilst the Red Devils have strung together consistent wins, which sees the Premier League champions eight points clear at the summit.
Milner has stated that money can’t buy instant success and that the City players need more time to gel.
“For the last 20 years, Manchester United have got that knack of winning and know how to close out title races,” he told The Sun.
“This is the first year we’ve been up there as a group.
“We have brought players in and it takes time for them to settle. As a team, to keep improving you have to work hard and be together for a number of years.
“Whatever happens this season, whether we win it or don’t, we have to make sure we learn from the good and the poor things which have gone on,” he concluded.
