Liverpool teenager Ben Woodburn was the hero for Wales as he scored the only goal on his debut for his country in their 1-0 win against Austria in their latest 2018 World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
Even though he is inexperienced and has only made nine appearances in all competitions for the Reds, the 17-year-old took his place in Chris Coleman’s latest squad for their crucial matches against Austria and Moldova – and he certainly didn’t disappoint.
The forward came on as a second-half substitute with Wales needing to find a breakthrough, and Woodburn stepped up to the plate by firing a 25-yard effort into the back of the net.
The attacker took to social media to express his emotions after his winning strike, and Liverpool supporters were quick to praise the youngster and believe they could be seeing a lot more of him this season.
