With Sam Allardyce almost certainly heading out of the door at the end of the season, according to reports, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has now turned his attentions to devising an ambitious wish list of managerial targets for the summer.
Top of that list is Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, who has achieved great things in the Spanish capital since his arrival including a La Liga title and a Champions League runners-up medal.
The Argentine signed a contract extension in the summer to keep him at Atletico until 2020, but that hasn’t deterred the determined Moshiri and Everton fans are equally excited about the possibility of him coming to Merseyside – with 65% of fans in our poll wanting him over ex-Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.
Enrique has been out of the managerial game for a year, and with Shakhtar Donestsk boss Paulo Fonseca the only other big name known to be in Moshiri’s reckoning, its clear to see why most Everton fans would prefer the man in charge at Atletico.
