West Brom boss Steve Clarke said it was a point well made rather than two lost after the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.
Shane Long
had put the visitors in front early in the second half but Darren Bent
levelled with ten minutes left to earn Villa a share of the spoils. Baggies boss Clarke told Sky Sports:
“I think it’s a good result. We came here expecting a difficult game and that’s what we got. We’re disappointed because we went ahead in the second half and controlled the game for a good spell. We then created a few half-chances for the second goal but we were pegged back and it finished 1-1. We’re a little bit disappointed, the players are disappointed in the dressing room because we didn’t get the three points. Overall I think we have to be happy with our efforts because, having been disrupted a little bit with injuries, the team performance was really good.”
West Brom next host QPR at The Hawthorns, and Clarke will be desperate for his team to keep their run of good form going.
